A serene place of tradition and beauty, Mount Hebron has been Winchester's burying ground from the city's inception. With grave stones dating back to the 1760s, the cemetery land was donated by Lord Fairfax to the local Lutheran and German Reformed Churches. Among those buried are Civil War soldiers, generals, governors, patriots, and humble citizens from every age.
