Cedar Creek Battlefield is the site of the last major battle between Union and Confederate forces in the Shenandoah Valley. The foundation now holds over 300 acres of core battlefield, including the historic Heater House and the site of the Union XIX Corps trenches along Cedar Creek. These grounds have been placed in a perpetual protective easement to ensure their continued presence for future generations. Our staff provides visitors with an overview of the battle and local landmarks, along with resource materials. A short film about the battle is shown on request. Access to a one mile long interpretive trail along the XIX Corps trenches is free with a stamped pass available at the battlefield visitor center. Our well stocked gift shop offers a wide selection of books and memorabilia about the Civil War in the Shenandoah Valley. The battlefield hosts a reenactment of the battle each year on the 3rd weekend of October. Admission: FREE Address: Telephone: Website: Hours: Nov. 1 – March 31: View Larger Map |
