Commemorating the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War

Learn more about Winchester-Frederick County's Civil War Weekend
150 years ago, the Civil War came to Winchester, with devastating consequences not just for the soldiers who clashed on the battlefields – and through the city streets – but also for the civilians who struggled to survive the storms.  On June 23-24, sites throughout the Winchester-Frederick County area will offer an array of programs looking back at those remarkable days, with a special focus on Stonewall Jackson’s legendary 1862 Valley Campaign.

Join us for a fascinating collection of military and civilian living history programs, battlefield, cemetery, and historic building tours, historical talks, book signings, and youth programs that will bring the area’s Civil War story to life in unforgettable ways.
